Welcome to the Look4Local service ("Service" or "Site"), a social utility that connects ethical and accountable consumers and businesses, for the promotion of a safer future through the protection of humans, animals and the natural environment. By accessing or using our website at www.look4local.co.uk, you (the "User" or "Viewer", and where applicable "Supplier") signify you have read, understand and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms of Use" or "Terms"), whether or not you are a registered member of Look4Local. You are advised to check the Terms of Use from time to time for any updates or changes that may impact you. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change, modify, add, or delete portions of these Terms of Use at any time without further notice. Your continued use of the Service or Site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Use.

Supplier Eligibility and Product Listings

At Look4Local, we aim for high ethical and environmental standards. Only suppliers who operate in an ethical way and support an ethical supply chain are entitled to open a Look4Local account. This test of ethics will be applied by an online community of users, who will point to best practitioners of and flag up deviations from the Look4Local ethos, which is in this way defined and redefined by a community of conscientious and committed users.

All product listings ("Listings") must be accurate and not misleading. You must own or otherwise have the right to use all photographs used, and, photographs and other information must accurately represent the item or items involved.

If you believe a listing or supplier violates these Terms of Use, you may report the violation to Look4Local, and Look4Local will determine in its sole discretion how to address such a listing and/or supplier.

Look4Local reserves the right to immediately and without notice terminate any Listings and/or your use of the Site, for any reason, or no reason, at its sole discretion, including but not limited to Listings and Suppliers deemed non-compliant with the Look4Local ethos.

General Conditions

  • We reserve the right to modify or terminate the Service for any reason, without notice at any time.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

  • Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. Look4Local is not responsible for the actions of any of its users, and the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranty or condition, express, implied or statutory.

  • We do not warrant that the functions contained in the material contained in the Site will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site or the server that makes it available are free of viruses or represent the full functionality, accuracy, reliability of the materials.

  • In no event will we be liable for any loss or damage including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any loss or damages whatsoever arising from use or loss of use of data or profits arising out of or in connection with the use of the Site or Service.

Registration Data and Account Security

In consideration of your use of the Site or Service, you agree to (a) provide accurate, current and complete information about yourself or yourself and your business as may be prompted by any registration forms on the Site; (b) maintain the security of your password and identification; (c) maintain and promptly update the Registration Data, and any other information you provide, to keep it accurate, current and complete; and (d) be fully responsible for all use of your account and for any actions that take place using your account.

  • Accounts registered by "bots" or other automated methods are not permitted.

  • You must provide your full legal name, a valid email address, and any other information needed in order to complete the signup process.

  • One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one account.

  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure. Look4Local cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to maintain the security of your account and password.

  • You may not use the Service or Site for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, or solicit illegal activity of any kind. Nor may you, in the use of the Service, violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws) as well as the laws of Wales and England.

  • You are responsible for your conduct and all activity and content (including but not limited to text, data, graphics, photos, links) that is uploaded to your Look4Local account.

  • You may not post any material that contains or links to any viruses, worms, Trojan horses, corrupted data or other harmful, disruptive or destructive files or programs.

  • A breach or violation of any of the Terms of Use as determined in the sole discretion of Look4Local will result in an immediate termination of your services.

Third Party Websites and Content

The Site contains links to other web sites ("Third Party Sites") as well as other third-party content ("Third Party Content"). Such Third Party Sites and Third Party Content are not investigated, monitored or checked for accuracy, appropriateness, or completeness by us, and we are not responsible for any Third Party Sites accessed through the Site or for any Third Party Content available through the Site. If you decide to leave the Site and access the Third Party Sites or Third Party Content, you do so at your own risk and you should be aware that our terms and policies no longer govern. You should review the applicable terms and policies, including privacy and data gathering practices, of any site to which you navigate from the Site.

Copyright Complaints

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and we prohibit users from transmitting on the Site or Service any materials that violate another party's intellectual property rights. If you believe that any material on the Site infringes upon any copyright owned or controlled by you, you may send a written notification of the infringement to Look4Local. We reserve the right to limit access to the Site and/or terminate the memberships of any users who infringe any intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.

Cancellation and Termination

  • You may cancel your account at any time: please email us to do so.

  • Once your account is cancelled, all of your content will be immediately and permanently deleted from the Site.
